Would you start laying bricks without a blueprint? ❌
No plan, no budget, no timeline?
Trading is the same!
Trading without a plan = building a house without a blueprint
The house might collapse... your account might go to zero
🏗️ Trading Plan = A Trader's Blueprint
What is a Trading Plan?
A Trading Plan is a pre-written plan that defines how you will trade, when, and why. It is like your own set of "rules" that you must always follow.
Why Do You Need a Trading Plan?
- ✅ Reduces emotional decisions — You have fixed rules, no need to think on the spot
- ✅ Creates consistency — Do the same thing every time, measure results
- ✅ Know what to do — No hesitation when prices are moving
- ✅ Easy to improve — See what works and what does not
Statistics show that traders with a written Trading Plan have a much higher chance of surviving in the market than those without one!
Components of a Trading Plan

1. 🎯 Goals
- Short-term goals — e.g. 5-10% per month
- Long-term goals — e.g. 50% per year
- Learning goals — e.g. Master Price Action within 3 months
• 5-10% per month is already very good
• Do not set a target of 100% per month — it is not sustainable
• Focus on following the plan, not just the numbers
2. 💱 Assets to Trade
- Which currency pairs will you trade?
- Recommended: Start with 1-3 major pairs (EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY)
- Study their behavior deeply rather than trading many pairs superficially
3. ⏰ Trading Hours
- Which session? (London, New York?)
- How many hours per day?
- Which days to skip? (e.g. Friday evenings)
4. 📊 Strategy
- Timeframe used — e.g. H1 for Entry, H4/D1 for Trend
- Tools used — S/R, Trendline, MA, RSI, MACD
- Entry conditions — When will you Buy? When will you Sell?
- Exit conditions — How will you set SL/TP?
5. 🛡️ Risk Management
- Risk per trade — No more than 1-2%
- Minimum Risk:Reward — At least 1:1.5 or 1:2
- Maximum Drawdown — If down 20%, stop trading and review
- Maximum positions — No more than 3 at a time
6. 📝 Personal Rules
- Do not trade during major news
- Do not trade when tired/sleepy/dealing with issues
- After 3 consecutive losses → Stop trading for the day
- Review trades every week

📓 What is a Trade Journal?
Like athletes who review video of themselves to find weaknesses
Traders must look back at their own trades too
No journal = no idea what you are doing wrong = repeat the same mistakes
A Trade Journal is a record of your trades that helps you see what you did right, what you did wrong, and how to improve.
What to Record (Every Trade!)
| 📅 Date/Time | When did you open/close the order |
| 💱 Pair | EUR/USD, GBP/USD, etc. |
| 📈 Direction | Buy or Sell |
| 🎯 Reason for Entry | The setup you saw (S/R + Hammer, Breakout, etc.) |
| 💰 Entry / SL / TP | Entry price, Stop Loss, Take Profit |
| 📊 Lot Size | 0.01, 0.1, etc. |
| ✅❌ Result | Profit/Loss in $ or % |
| 🧠 Emotion at Entry | Confident? Scared? FOMO? Revenge? |
| 📝 Lesson Learned | What would you do differently next time? |
| 📸 Screenshot | Chart image at entry/exit |
🛠️ Trade Journal Tools

- ❌ See which setups lose money → Avoid those
- 🧠 Know which emotions cost you money → Be more aware
- 📈 Improve weaknesses precisely
- ✍️ Become more disciplined — Because you must record every trade
Example Trade Journal
| Date | Pair | B/S | Reason | Result | Lesson |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1/15/25 | EUR/USD | Buy | Hit S + Hammer | +$24 | Waited for confirm - good |
| 1/16/25 | GBP/USD | Sell | FOMO | -$15 | Did not wait for setup! |

- ❌ Not reviewing — Repeating the same mistakes
- ❌ Rushing to trade real money — Not practicing enough on Demo
