💱 Currency Pairs

Major, Minor, Exotic pairs and how to read currency pair prices

🏪 Imagine you are at a market...

"3 oranges for 2 mangoes"

Forex works the same way!
"1 Euro for 1.08 US Dollars"

You do not buy a "single currency" — you always exchange two currencies

📖 How to Read a Currency Pair

EUR/USD = 1.0850

This means: 1 Euro = 1.0850 US Dollars

EUR (first) = Base Currency — the "main" one
USD (second) = Quote Currency — the "reference" one
Currency pair anatomy EUR/USD - EUR is Base Currency, USD is Quote Currency, 1.0850 is the price with Buy/Sell direction

🎯 Buy vs Sell — How to Think About It?

🟢 BUY EUR/USD🔴 SELL EUR/USD
You think the Euro will strengthen
(or the Dollar will weaken)
You think the Euro will weaken
(or the Dollar will strengthen)
Price goes up = 💰 ProfitPrice goes down = 💰 Profit
Price goes down = ❌ LossPrice goes up = ❌ Loss
💡 Easy to remember:
Buy = You are "rooting for" the Base (first) currency to go up
Sell = You are "rooting for" the Base (first) currency to go down
